Pines Energy Group LLC
A privately held energy company built around four operating divisions. We supply fuel, produce it, recover the feedstock behind it, and hold the businesses that do the work.
A Group Built
Around Fuel Supply
Pines Energy Group LLC is headquartered in Athens, Texas. The company began as a single production operation converting used cooking oil into biodiesel and has since grown into a group covering commercial fuel procurement, oil and gas, recycling, and business ownership.
The structure came out of the work rather than a plan on paper. Producing biodiesel required a steady feedstock supply, which became a collection operation. Selling fuel to commercial accounts meant buyers started asking for products we did not produce, which became a brokerage. Owning several businesses under one roof required a holding company, which became Pines Holdings.
Each division has its own customers, its own operations, and its own point of contact. What they share is a customer base that buys fuel and services in commercial volumes and expects both to arrive when promised.

The Group and Its Divisions
Pines Energy Group LLC is the parent company. The four divisions below operate underneath it.
Pines Energy Group LLC
Parent company overseeing multiple energy and industrial businesses.
- Pines Fuel Brokerage Commercial fuel procurement and supplier network.
- Pines USA Oil and gas and biodiesel operations.
- Pines Green Used cooking oil collection, recycling, and renewable feedstock operations.
- Pines Holdings Strategic investments, acquisitions, and ownership of operating companies.
One Chain, Four Businesses
The divisions stand on their own commercially, but they were built to feed each other. That is the practical advantage of holding them under one company.
Pines Green Recovers
Collection routes recover used cooking oil from food service accounts. That material is the feedstock the production side depends on.
Pines USA Produces
The Athens facility processes that feedstock into biodiesel and supplies it alongside the division's other fuel products and energy services.
Brokerage Distributes
Pines Fuel Brokerage sells into commercial accounts, sourcing whatever the group does not produce from its supplier network so a customer can cover everything in one place.
Holdings Owns
Pines Holdings holds the ownership interests, funds equipment and expansion where it earns its keep, and evaluates acquisitions that strengthen the chain.
A customer never has to understand this structure to work with us. If you call about fuel and also need collection service, or you buy biodiesel and want a diesel quote as well, one conversation covers it.
How We Run
the Business
Fuel is not a differentiated product. Diesel from one terminal is the same as diesel from another. What separates suppliers is whether the delivery happens, whether the price was fair, and whether someone answers when a problem comes up.
Contact the GroupDo What Was Agreed
A delivery window is a commitment, not an estimate. When we cannot hit one, the customer hears it from us before they notice it themselves.
Price It Openly
Quotes show what is product, what is freight, and what is margin. Customers who understand how a price is built make better purchasing decisions.
Keep the Structure Flat
Small teams, direct lines, and decisions made by people who know the account. No layers between the customer and someone who can act.
Own the Whole Chain
Where we can control an input, we do. Running our own collection operation is what makes production consistent, and consistency is what customers actually buy.
Say No When It Fits
If biodiesel is wrong for your equipment or the volume does not justify a route, we will tell you. Selling the wrong thing once costs more than the order was worth.
Document the Work
Collection records, batch results, and delivery volumes are kept and provided on request. Customers should be able to verify what they were told.
Commitment to
Dependable Service
Everything the group sells is something a customer needs on a schedule. A restaurant needs the container emptied before it overflows. A contractor needs equipment fueled before the crew starts. A fleet needs product in the tank before the trucks roll.
-
Confirmed Schedules
Every recurring account runs on a set frequency with a known window. Changes are communicated before the date, not after it. -
Backup Supply
More than one qualified supplier per product and region, so a terminal outage or a carrier problem does not become your problem. -
Direct Contact
You reach the division handling your account. No routing through a call center and no ticket numbers. -
Records on Request
Delivery volumes, collection manifests, and batch documentation are kept and provided when you need them for your own files. -
Capacity Before Commitment
We take on accounts we can actually service. Growth that outruns the equipment and the crew shows up as missed deliveries.
How the Group Expands
Growth follows the customers we already have. When an account asks for a product or a service we do not offer, that is the signal to look at adding it. It is a slower way to expand than chasing new markets, and it puts revenue behind the decision before the capital goes out.
Three paths carry the group forward. Deeper coverage of existing markets, which means more collection routes, more supplier relationships, and more production capacity in the regions we already serve. Adjacent services for existing customers, which is how the brokerage came about. And selective acquisition through Pines Holdings, where buying an operating business is faster and less risky than building one.
Each division grows at its own pace, held to the same constraint: we do not take on volume the equipment and the crew cannot cover.
Pines HoldingsBuilding the Group
Biodiesel Production Established
The company was founded in East Texas to convert used cooking oil into biodiesel, with a production facility in Athens, Texas handling processing and storage.
Collection Operations Launched
Restaurant and food service collection routes were established to secure a consistent feedstock supply. This work became the Pines Green division.
Fuel Brokerage Formed
Commercial buyers began asking for diesel, gasoline, and DEF alongside biodiesel. Pines Fuel Brokerage was formed to source those products through a supplier network.
Pines Energy Group LLC Organized
The operating businesses were organized under Pines Energy Group LLC, with Pines USA covering oil and gas and production, and Pines Holdings holding ownership interests.
Expanding Coverage
The group continues to add collection accounts, supplier relationships, and commercial fuel customers, and to evaluate acquisitions in energy and industrial services.
Brant has always been interested in entrepreneurship, particularly the kind that is useful to the community around it. Born in Mesquite, Texas, he visited family in East Texas often, and when his family moved to Hideaway he took to the area quickly. Over seven years in Hideaway and the surrounding towns he built friendships and working relationships across the community.
Hearing the people around him talk about fuel costs, he wanted to find something he could do about it. In a high school chemistry class he was introduced to transesterification. He read into the chemistry, ran experiments in his parents' garage, and worked out that the process could be run at a commercial scale.
The original business model was simple: collect used cooking oil from restaurants and convert it into biodiesel for local farms and ranches. That operation became the foundation for what is now Pines Energy Group LLC, and the same approach has carried into every division since. Find work that customers actually need done, do it reliably, and let the demand decide what comes next.
"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Arthur Ashe
"Fuel is a commodity. Service is not. We compete on whether the product shows up, what it costs, and who answers the phone when something changes."
